Sounds From Spain announces SXSW 2010 line-up; Los Planetas, Amaral, Huecco, Tom Cary, The Unfinished Sympathy & Nudozurdo to perform at this year’s SXSW Music Festival March 17-18 in Austin, Texas.

SXSW’s Sounds From Spain showcases, will take place Wednesday, March 17th at 7:30 p.m., at Encore Patio, 611 Red River St., and Thursday, March 18th at 4:30 p.m., at Brush Square Park East Tent.

Both showcases will feature all six artists, and the March 18 event will have all the atmosphere of an outdoor festival, with authentic cuisine and drink – paella, gazpacho, sangría, Spanish beer and wine.

Headlining is Amaral, the transcendent pop-rock duo comprising Eva Amaral and Juan Aguirre. Known for such Latin pop hits as “Sin Ti No Soy Nada” and “El Universo Sobre Mí,” this group recently released an acclaimed live album, La Barrera del Sonido, on EMI Music.

Deftly mastering what he calls “impossible fusions” of musical styles, Warner Music Latina artist Huecco brings a fascinating mix of flamenco, hip-hop and other sounds to his very personal songs.

The five-man group Los Planetas mixes psychedelia and high concept into their organic rock sound. A legend in Spanish alternative music, they’re promoting their new studio album Una Ópera Egipcia.

Founded in 2001, Nudozurdo is an indie foursome whose atmospheric rock and hypnotic sound invite us to get lost in the music.

Based in the multilingual city of Barcelona, The Unfinished Sympathy performs sharp, hook-filled guitar rock in English. Their new album is titled Avida Dollars, an anagram of Salvador Dalí’s name which his critics used as a pejorative, as they accused him of “selling out” for fortune in the Americas.

Tom Cary is not a person but a young foursome from Málaga. Also performing in English, this band mixes blues, punk and emo for a show that’s never boring.

“Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief,” announced its lineup of superstar musical performances.  The global telethon will feature performances by Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, and Sting in New York City; Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift and a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow in Los Angeles; and Coldplay, and a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, and Rihanna in a newly added London location.  All musical performances will be available for purchase for $.99 per song through the Apple® iTunes® Store beginning Saturday, January 23, with all proceeds benefiting Haiti relief funds managed by “Hope for Haiti Now” charities.

In addition to musical performances, Wyclef Jean in New York City, George Clooney in Los Angeles, and CNN’s Anderson Cooper reporting from Haiti, “Hope for Haiti Now” will feature more than one hundred of the biggest names in film, television, and music supporting the cause with testimonials and by answering phones during the telethon.

The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund and United Nations World Food Programme have joined the list of relief organizations that will benefit from “Hope for Haiti Now,” which also includes Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF, and Yele Haiti Foundation.  Proceeds from “Hope for Haiti Now” will be split evenly among each organization’s individual funds for Haiti earthquake relief.

“Hope for Haiti Now” will be the most widely distributed telethon in history, both internationally and across media platforms.  The two-hour telethon will air on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, The CW, HBO, MTV, VH1, and CMT on Friday, January 22, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and 7:00 p.m. CT.   “Hope for Haiti Now” will also air on newly added networks including PBS, TNT, Showtime, COMEDY CENTRAL, Bravo, E! Entertainment, National Geographic Channel, Oxygen, G4, CENTRIC, Current TV, Fuse, MLB Network, EPIX, Palladia, SoapNet, Style, Discovery Health, Planet Green, and Canadian networks including CBC Television, CTV, Global Television, and MuchMusic.  The event will be live streamed online globally across sites including YouTube, Hulu, MySpace, Fancast, AOL, MSN.com, Yahoo, Bing.com, BET.com, CNN.com, MTV.com, VH1.com, and Rhapsody and on mobile via Alltel, AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and FloTV. “Hope for Haiti Now” will also air internationally on BET International, CNN International, National Geographic, and MTV Networks International, which is available in 640 million homes worldwide.  “Hope for Haiti Now” will be the first U.S.-based telethon airing on MTV in China.  Facebook and Twitter have signed on as official social media partners to help drive donations and tune-in to the telethon.

Tickets for Aventura’s unprecedented FOURTH SHOW at Madison Square Garden go on sale this week. With capacity concerts already planned on January 20th, 21st and February 1st, The Kings Of Bachata recently announced the addition of a fourth show at Madison Square Garden to meet fan demand in New York City. The February 2nd concert will make Aventura the first-ever Latin artist to play a four-night stand at “The World’s Most Famous Arena” and puts the Bronx-Based Superstars into the rare company of artists such as Madonna, Bruce Springsteen & Billy Joel that have done runs of four nights or more at The Garden.

Citing scheduling conflicts, Demi Lovato and David Archuleta announced three rescheduled shows yesterday. The original and rescheduled dates are below. Tickets for the original show will be honored at the rescheduled shows. Refunds will be available at point of purchase until September 30. Performance times will remain the same for the Manchester and Providence shows at 7pm. The Atlantic City show will now start at 4pm.
